Comparison · Readaily vs Bookly

Readaily vs Bookly: two reading timers, two philosophies

Bookly and Readaily are both reading-timer apps for iPhone and Android, with streaks, goals and statistics, and both show ads in their free versions. Bookly is a solo app with an AI reading assistant and Goodreads import; Readaily adds private book clubs, a follow-and-review social layer, an Apple Watch app and a cheaper Pro plan (US$0.99 a month versus US$4.99).

If you already know you want a reading timer, these two apps will both feel familiar: start a session, read, log the page, watch the stats grow. The differences are in what surrounds the timer.

  • An AI assistant for personalised recommendations.
  • More goal types: monthly and yearly goals in hours, pages or books.
  • Ambient sounds while you read.
