Comparison · Readaily vs StoryGraph

Readaily vs StoryGraph: stats and discovery, or a daily habit?

The StoryGraph is an independent Goodreads alternative, free with an optional Plus plan, known for mood-based recommendations, reading charts and Goodreads import. Readaily is a reading habit app: it times each session, keeps a daily streak and works offline, in eight languages. Choose StoryGraph to analyse and discover; choose Readaily to read a little every day.

StoryGraph and Readaily are both independent of Amazon and both care about how you read, not only what. The difference is the centre of gravity: StoryGraph is built around your library and your stats; Readaily is built around today’s reading session.

Where StoryGraph is better

  • Statistics and charts. If you love seeing your reading broken down by mood, genre and pace, StoryGraph goes deeper.
  • Recommendations. Its mood and pace filters are a genuinely good way to find the next book.
  • Coming from Goodreads. StoryGraph imports your Goodreads shelves; Readaily doesn’t yet.
  • No ads, even for free.
  • Buddy reads with spoiler locks, free.

Where Readaily is better

  • A reading timer that records each session, your pages per hour and the time left in the book.
  • The habit loop: a daily goal in minutes or pages, one reminder, and a streak that resets quietly instead of scolding you.
  • Works offline, on a plane or in a cabin, and syncs later.
  • Your language. Readaily is available in English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian and Japanese.
  • On your wrist and lock screen: an Apple Watch app, widgets and Live Activities.

Which should you choose?

If you mostly want to understand your reading after the fact, and to find great books, StoryGraph is excellent. If what you want is to read more often, Readaily is built for exactly that. They also work well together: StoryGraph for the library, Readaily for the daily session.
